STUDIO
Studio History
Teaze has hosted events in the studio including Rocky Horror Picture Show, Pin Up Bazaar, holiday showcases, themed parties, and anniversary events. During our fifteen years in business, the company participated in many parades and news segments including the Oklahoma Gazette's annual Halloween parade with thousands in attendance. Teaze won the Hotter Than Hades Award in 2009 and 3rd place in 2011 among the entries in the parade. The studio and staff have been featured on Fox 25, KFOR, 96.9 BOB-FM, Oklahoma Live, Look at OKC, and the Oklahoma Gazette.
Teaze is the first and only studio of its kind in our state and over the years, the studio
hosted internationally known artists for shows and workshops. Pole, aerial, & burlesque instructors include Natasha Wang, David C. Owen, Pantera Blacksmith, Jordan Kolar, Bettina May, the Schlep Sisters, Ruby Revue, and Houston Burlesque Revue. Our students who took their first pole classes at Teaze and taught for years at our studio have competed in the Pole Championship Series, Paragon, and Miss Pole Dance America.
Since 2011, our team has produced shows with staff and sometimes students performing. The show names included: All That Teaze, Shamrock Follies, Bombshells the Show, Les Girls, Showgirl Revue, Scoundrels and Showgirls. We produced one festival in 2014- Oklahoma Pole & Burlesque Expo, which featured local talent showcases, a live band with choreographed group dances to the band, and three separate competitions. The competitions awarded titles and included: Miss Pin Up Oklahoma, Oklahoma Pole Championships- Women's Division, Master's Division, Men's Division, and a pole doubles showcase. Oklahoma Queen of Burlesque was the final title given. The Teaze team also partnered with Harley Davidson World of OKC and produced the Miss Pin Up OKC competition in 2013.
The US Pole Sports Federation was formed in 2014 and in 2017, they began the application process to become members of the USA Sports Council. The USPSF has been officially recognized as the governing body of pole for the USA by the USA Sports Council in 2018. They are honored and have worked very hard to be the first federation to achieve recognition by the United States governing body of sports. Recognized sports that are not part of the olympics are governed by the USA Sports Council. This is one step closer to legitimizing pole dance/fitness as a sport as well as a step closer to our olympic goals.
Teaze Dance was selected to represent the top 20 studios in the United States by the USPSF executive committee in 2018.
Today, our team can be booked for professional shows with our owners live band and dancers. We are no longer offering the plethora of community events in the form of small shows, workshops and small events within the dance studio. Instead, the owners have set their sights on traveling for large scale venues such as casinos, theatres, and music festivals around the world.
The Oklahoma Showgirls have worked consecutively for over fourteen years with numerous gala events, holiday parties, golf and country clubs, and casinos in Oklahoma.
The showgirls as well as Jimmy Dale's band use the dance studio as a training and rehearsal space.
We are so grateful for the amazing people we meet during bachelorette and birthday parties in the studio. As we continue to reach for our live entertainment dreams, we still answer every email and every message. We love continuing to share our hearts and this special dance studio and unique experience with you!
